Longevity clinics in Europe

Nine providers in Europe, three very different formats.

A diagnostic day in Berlin, a hospital programme in London or a stay on Lake Geneva: very different things run under “longevity” in Europe. This page sorts nine providers by format, with a source for every detail, and names the questions that tell you whether a provider is serious.

In brief

Which preventive health and longevity clinics are there in Europe?

There is no reliable ranking of the best longevity clinics, because no clinic has shown that its programme extends lifespan. Providers can, however, be told apart by format. Outpatient diagnostic clinics bundle the examinations into one day or one hour: YEARS in Berlin, Neko Health in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Stockholm, and Aeon through partner clinics in seven German cities. Hospital programmes combine the check-up with specialists in the same building, in Europe for example Mayo Clinic Healthcare in London. Medical retreats combine diagnostics with a stay of several days and treatments: Clinique La Prairie in Montreux, Lanserhof in Tyrol, at Tegernsee, on Sylt and in Marbella, Chenot in Weggis, SHA in Spain and Buchinger Wilhelmi on Lake Constance, in Marbella and on the Côte d’Azur. Which format fits depends on whether you are looking for a medical baseline or for a stay.

Formats

Three formats that are all called “longevity”.

The term is not protected. What matters is what you are looking for: a medical baseline, a short path to a specialist, or a stay.

Outpatient diagnostic clinic

The examinations take one day or one hour, with no overnight stay. The result is a medical baseline with a physician’s interpretation; the follow-through happens afterwards in daily life.

In Europe, for example

YEARS, Neko Health, Aeon

Fits if

you want to know where you stand and need a plan for your everyday life.

Hospital programme

An executive health programme inside a hospital group, with specialists in the same building. If something stands out, the relevant specialty takes over directly.

In Europe, for example

Mayo Clinic Healthcare in London

Fits if

a short path to specialist follow-up matters most to you.

Medical retreat

A stay of several days in which diagnostics are one element alongside nutrition, fasting, exercise, sleep and treatments. The stay itself is part of the offer.

In Europe, for example

Lanserhof, Clinique La Prairie, Chenot, SHA, Buchinger Wilhelmi

Fits if

you want distance from daily life and a supported change on site.

Choosing

How to recognise an evidence-based preventive health clinic.

Six questions that separate evidence from marketing. They apply to every format, and you can ask any provider before booking.

Who interprets the findings, and are they named?

A serious provider names the physicians responsible for your findings, with their specialty. A report without a named person is a data dump.

Is every procedure graded by evidence?

Whole-body MRI, liquid biopsy and epigenetic clocks add information, but a benefit for lifespan has not been shown for them. Good providers say openly what is established and what is research-stage.

What happens after the findings?

One data point says less than a trajectory. Ask whether there are follow-up appointments, who coordinates further work-up and how abnormal findings reach specialist care.

Does it replace guideline screening?

It should add to it, not replace it. Colonoscopy, mammography and skin screening remain worthwhile in their own right, even after a comprehensive check-up.

What does the provider deliberately not offer?

An exclusion list is a good sign. Whoever sells infusions, stem cells or supplements without demonstrated benefit is mainly selling hope.

What is in the price, and what is the stay?

At retreats, accommodation, meals and treatments are included; at diagnostic clinics they are not. Compare what part is actually diagnostics.

Frequently asked questions about longevity clinics in Europe

There is no reliable ranking. No clinic has shown in a study that its programme extends lifespan, and the well-known best-of lists come from travel portals, magazines or the providers themselves. The more useful question is which format suits you. For a medical baseline in one day, outpatient clinics such as YEARS in Berlin, Neko Health in the UK and Sweden, or Aeon in German cities are options. If you want a check-up with specialists in the same building, Mayo Clinic Healthcare in London offers that. If you want a stay of several days with nutrition, fasting and treatments, look at houses such as Lanserhof, Clinique La Prairie, Chenot, SHA or Buchinger Wilhelmi. What matters then is named physicians, an open account of the evidence and support after the findings.

Evidence-based does not mean that a programme has been shown to extend lifespan; no clinic has shown that. It means a provider discloses which examinations are backed by guidelines and outcome studies and which are research-stage, and that a finding only triggers treatment when that is established. You can check this against six points: named physicians, a public grading of every procedure, support after the findings, guideline screening kept in place, a list of what is not offered, and a price that separates diagnostics from the stay. Among the nine providers on this page, YEARS publicly assigns each of its procedures to one of three evidence tiers. Mayo Clinic Healthcare in London builds its assessment around guideline screening, with a stool test and age-based colonoscopy and mammography.

The term longevity clinic is not protected, so both use it. The difference lies in format and purpose. A diagnostic clinic measures in one day what can be measured and turns the findings into a plan for your everyday life, with no overnight stay. A medical retreat is a stay of several days in which diagnostics are one element alongside nutrition, fasting, exercise, sleep and treatments. Both can make sense; they simply answer different questions. If you want to know where you stand, you mainly need thorough diagnostics and a good results discussion. If you are looking for distance from daily life and a supported change on site, a retreat is the right place. For treatments marketed as rejuvenating, it is worth asking for studies with hard endpoints.

It depends above all on the format. An outpatient diagnostic day costs something different from a stay that includes accommodation, meals and treatments, so prices are hard to compare directly. At YEARS, Core costs 1,990 euros with 87 biomarkers and functional diagnostics, Evolve 7,600 euros with whole-body MRI and liquid biopsy on top, Ultimate 16,900 euros with genetics, epigenetics and three check-ins a year. We deliberately do not quote other providers’ prices, because they change constantly and an outdated figure is worse than none. When comparing, one question helps more than the final price: what part is diagnostics, what part is the stay, and what happens after the findings? For privately insured patients in Germany, whether billing follows the GOÄ fee schedule matters too.

That has not been shown. There is no randomised trial showing that a comprehensive check-up or a longevity programme increases life expectancy. What is established is more modest and still important: whoever knows and treats high blood pressure, unfavourable blood lipids, disturbed glucose metabolism or low fitness early lowers their risk of heart attack, stroke and diabetes. A good clinic finds these points, puts them in context and supports the follow-through. Procedures such as whole-body MRI, liquid biopsy or epigenetic clocks add information, but a benefit for lifespan has not been shown for them. That is why every procedure at YEARS is publicly assigned to one of three evidence tiers, including the ones we offer ourselves.

Yes. The whole programme takes place on one day in Berlin-Charlottenburg, so no longer stay is needed. On request, the medical history, examinations and results discussion are conducted entirely in English, and the report with all biomarkers, imaging findings and your prevention plan is in English too. Questionnaires, scheduling and follow-up questions run by email before and after your visit. There are no results on the examination day itself: the results consultation follows about two weeks later, by video as standard, so you do not need to travel again. How to plan the trip and what to bring is on our page for international guests.
