Physician results review at YEARS in Berlin

Women’s health from 35

From 35, a lot shifts.Almost no one measures it.

Energy, sleep, cycle, mood and bone all hinge on your hormone balance, and much of it is measurable and can be influenced. YEARS looks at your full hormonal picture instead of isolated numbers, physician-guided in one day in Berlin.

  • Full hormonal picture
  • Bone density
  • Cardiovascular
  • Whole-body MRI

Why this matters

Women are systematically measured less thoroughly.

Symptoms are often dismissed as stress, hormones are viewed individually rather than in context, and many reference ranges go back to studies in men. Three areas slip through the cracks especially often, even though they matter most statistically for women from 35.

Hormones across every phase

Estradiol, progesterone, FSH, LH, prolactin and testosterone drive energy, mood, sleep, cycle and bone. In routine care they are rarely measured fully and in context.

Cardiovascular risk is underrated

Cardiovascular disease is among the leading causes of death in women, yet it often presents atypically. Markers like ApoB and Lp(a) plus cardiovascular imaging create clarity early.

Bone health after 35

Declining estrogen accelerates bone loss. An early bone density measurement makes the risk visible and enables targeted prevention long before it becomes critical.

The core

Why YEARS is right for you

Four reasons the YEARS programmes make sense precisely when a lot is shifting hormonally and standard medicine rarely looks closely.

  • The full hormonal picture, not isolated values

Estradiol, progesterone, FSH, LH, testosterone, prolactin and TSH only form a picture in context, together with ferritin, vitamin D, metabolism and bone density. A single value says little, the interplay drives energy, sleep, mood and bone health.

  • Cared for by a female physician

Dr. med. Ann Netzer guides your check and takes women’s health seriously as a subject in its own right. History, interpretation and recommendations come from a physician, in person, with concrete next steps instead of a plain list of numbers.

  • Measured and interpreted for women

Reference ranges and studies were historically based largely on research in men, which is why women are still underdiagnosed more often. We measure and interpret your values in a woman-specific way and across your life stage.

  • Early detection where it is often missed

Cardiovascular disease often presents atypically in women and is recognised too late. The radiation-free whole-body MRI assesses breast, pelvis and organs, while bone density measurement helps counter later osteoporosis.

What we look at for you

Over 25 functional tests and 85+ biomarkers in Core up to more than 230 in Ultimate, focused on female physiology across every life stage.

Full hormonal picture

Estradiol, progesterone, FSH and LH, prolactin, free testosterone and TSH. Measured across cycle phases or in peri- and postmenopause and interpreted in context.

Iron & micronutrients

Ferritin and transferrin saturation for iron status, plus vitamin D, B12 and folate. Frequently overlooked causes of fatigue, hair loss and cycle problems.

Bone density

Osteodensitometry for early detection of bone loss. Relevant from around 35 and important around menopause when declining estrogen takes effect.

Cardiovascular

ApoB, Lp(a), blood pressure, ECG and echocardiography plus vascular ultrasound. The key early indicators, precisely because heart problems often present atypically in women.

Whole-body MRI without radiation

Assessment of breast, pelvis and organs, particularly sensitive with dense breast tissue. Complements established screening rather than replacing it.

Metabolism & thyroid

HbA1c, fasting insulin and a full thyroid status with TSH, fT3 and fT4. Both directly influence weight, energy and hormone balance.

Frequently asked questions about women’s health from 35

A good entry point is around 35, when hormonal changes slowly become measurable and it pays to have a baseline. An early baseline makes later shifts visible instead of guessing at them in hindsight. The check is useful at any age though, especially with a family history of breast cancer or cardiovascular disease, with cycle or sleep problems, or when symptoms have so far been dismissed as stress. A family history is a signal, not a verdict. Much of it can be influenced once you know it early. We always interpret your values in context rather than judging single numbers in isolation.

During perimenopause estradiol and progesterone often fluctuate strongly while FSH and LH rise. Single snapshots then say little, so we look at the full picture and interpret it together with your symptoms. Beyond the sex hormones, the thyroid (TSH), iron status via ferritin, vitamin D and bone density matter, because falling estrogen accelerates bone loss. Cardiovascular risk also shifts in this phase. Whether hormone replacement therapy fits you is something we discuss based on your values, your history and your goals, evidence-based and without dogma. We do not promise miracles, but an honest interpretation.

Yes. For family planning or unclear cycle and hormonal symptoms we look at the full hormonal picture: estradiol, progesterone, FSH, LH, prolactin and thyroid values, plus ferritin, vitamin D and metabolism. These factors are closely linked and are often viewed only individually in routine care. We are not a fertility clinic and do not replace reproductive treatment. What we do provide is a thorough baseline assessment, spotting for example an iron deficiency, a thyroid dysfunction or a vitamin D deficiency that can affect cycle and wellbeing. Where needed we refer you on specifically and accompany you over time.

Yes. Your check is guided by Dr. med. Ann Netzer, a physician who takes women’s health seriously as a subject in its own right, not as a side note. She conducts the history, interprets your values in a woman-specific way and discusses the results with you personally. This matters to us because many symptoms in women have historically been overlooked or downplayed. Reference ranges and studies were long based mostly on research in men. At YEARS you get a physician’s interpretation that puts your body and your life stage at the centre, with concrete next steps rather than a plain list of numbers.

No, and we say this deliberately clearly. The YEARS check complements established screening, it does not replace it. Regular gynaecological exams, the Pap smear and, from the legally intended age, mammography screening remain important. The whole-body MRI works without radiation and can additionally assess breast, pelvis and organs, especially with dense breast tissue. Early detection improves chances, it guarantees nothing, and more diagnostics can also lead to overdiagnosis and unnecessary worry. That is why every finding is interpreted by a physician rather than used to create fear. The goal is a more complete picture of your health, not a replacement for your specialists.

The services are private medical services billed under the German scale of medical fees (GOÄ). For those with private insurance, for civil-servant allowance (Beihilfe) and via company health insurance (bKV) many services are reimbursable, though the exact scope depends on your tariff. We recommend clarifying this with your insurer beforehand, and we issue you a transparent invoice. People with statutory insurance can use the check as self-payers. In the free intro call we explain transparently which programmes contain which examinations and what costs to expect, so you can make an informed decision.
