Dr. med. Hani Al-Mohamed
„Health decides not only how long we live, but with how much energy, freedom and quality of life.“
Dr. Al-Mohamed combines years of experience as a (senior) attending physician in internal medicine, intensive care and geriatrics with a modern understanding of preventive medicine and healthy longevity. Working with severely ill and elderly patients taught him early on that health trajectories often begin decades before they become visible.

Why prevention – and why YEARS?
In geriatrics and intensive care, I have often seen what health trajectories look like at the end: exhaustion, loss of independence, chronic conditions and/or reduced quality of life. At the same time, it became clear to me that these processes rarely emerge suddenly, but unfold over many years. For me, prevention means stepping in earlier – before performance, energy and health are lost.
What do you wish more people understood about health?
Many people only think about their health consciously once it is already compromised. Yet our daily decisions today shape how resilient, clear-headed and capable we will be in ten or twenty years. Health is not a short-term project, but the foundation for freedom, quality of life and long-term agency.
What have you learned from your patients?
That lasting health rarely comes from extremes. The people who stay physically and mentally stable usually share something else: good routines, movement, social connection, and a sense of balance. Health is often less a question of perfect discipline and more the ability to sustainably manage your own resources.
